 Jive and Swing Class Update
Hi All!

Hope you are all enjoying your summers :) We are writing to let you know about some upcoming events.

1) THIS Thursday, July 26th 8-10pm at the Queen's Student Union we will be running a Lindy Hop Master Class with a guest teacher from Philadelphia, USA, Kerry Genese. She will be focusing on partner connection and individual styling. The cost is £12 for the two hours and knowledge of a Lindy 8 beat Swingout is a requirement. Other than that the class is open to a range of levels. A little bit about Kerry Genese:

"In dancing and teaching, my first concern is joy.

I’ve been teaching at LaB (Lindy and Blues) in Philadelphia since 2008. There I have been lucky enough to teach regularly in Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, and Blues. In 2010, I began teaching full time with Philly Lindy Hop, running weekly Lindy Hop classes, private lessons, and Crash Courses in both Lindy Hop and Blues. I’ve also had the pleasure of working with a number of college groups in the Philadelphia area, including the TCNJ, UPenn, Temple, University of Delaware, Swarthmore, and Haverford College.

I love meeting a new group of people who have never danced before, and likewise I delight in pushing myself and others to new levels. I am fascinated by communication without words and by dancing’s intrinsic relationship to smiling."

2) Our Improvers class with Bahia & Adib will be off again this week due to the master class. We will be resuming again the following week, Aug 2nd, 8pm along with the Intermediate (Lindy Hop) class at 9pm.

3) We will be running a brand new beginner class the following week as well, August 2nd, 8pm at the Queen's Student Union. Both the 6 beat Jive / East Coast Swing improvers and beginners classes will be running simultaneously most likely on the 2nd floor in the Snack Bar. If not there, then we will be in the Space on the 1st floor.
