james is back
James McLauchlan will coming back to Belfast for another set West Coast Swing workshops and party night on Saturday 1st August.
Last time we had james over he give a improvers' WCS class which everybody agreed was brilliant. So we have arranged for James to get him back.
James McLauchlan has been dancing for more than 15 years and quickly fell in love with the couples dance. He started competing and winning titles all over the world including Scotland, Ireland, England, Spain,
France, Belgium, Netherlands, Washington, New York and a world championship in Nashville. James has been teaching different types of dance for nearly 12 years, including west coast swing, east coast swing, night club two-step, country two-step, polka, american smooth,
hip-hop, line dance, keep fit and aerobics.
We will be running two workshops on Saturday 1st Auguest at beginner and improver level.
7:00 to 8:30pm - WCS impovers (aimed at those who have learnt the basics)
8:30 to 9:30pm - WCS beginners (no previous knowledge required)
9:30 to 11:00pm - WCS Dancing
Costs:
£5 - Beginners workshop + access to the party (WCS, Salsa and Tango)
£10 - Beginners & impovers workshop + access to the party (WCS, Salsa and Tango)
The workshops will be run in parallel with our monthy salsa night that wll run to 1am. So the ticket includes access to the salsa party as well as a second dance floor with Tango and Ballroom.

Get set for Dublin's very first Lindy Exchange!
That's right, this is the event you have been waiting for! The Dublin Lindy Exchange will take place from the 11th - 13th of September 2009.
A weekend jam-packed with as much of the famous Irish craic as you can handle, including:
* THREE nights of seriously swingin' dance parties in stunning city centre venues.
* TWO days to explore the finest treasures the city has to offer.
* A traditional Irish disco with céilà dancing, sing-alongs, and plenty of tea.
Our Friday and Saturday night parties will be held in The Pillar Rooms, a fabulous large ballroom, in the centre of Parnell Square, one of Dublin's fine Georgian squares.
Our Sunday night dance will be held in 4 Dame Lane - a lovely intimate bar close to Trinity College.
Both venues have two rooms, meaning twice as much fun!

Jason Barnes resides in North Carolina and Erica Berg resides in Minneapolis. They began their dance partnership together in 2003. In 2005 and 2006, they finished 5th on the NASDE tour and have shared numerous titles.
In addition to West Coast Swing, Jason’s dance background includes success on the country circuit with previous dance partners and more recently in Int’l and Latin Ballroom. Erica’s dance background is comprised of ballet training but she attributes much of her dance interpretation to her music background. Her constant goal with dance is to have as much fun as possible. She looks forward to growing as a dancer, whether it's within West Coast Swing or other dances such as Lindy Hop, Balboa, Shag, etc
Since teaming together, they have enjoyed a successful competitive and teaching partnership, and have been lucky enough to meet the most wonderful people during their cross-country and international travels.
They have won a host of titles including most recently:

* 08' MadJAM Pro-Strictly Swing - 2nd Place

Lee holds multiple World Championships in UCWDC Line and Couples Dance, a Top Teacher award for work with his international students.
Winning 11 world titles in solo and couples divisions, Lee
is the World and European Professional Line dance champion and 2006, 2007 and 2009 World Line Dance Super Star Grand Champion. Lee has won numerous Swing titles on the US scene and was the 1st ever UK West Coast Swing champion 2006 and is the Current Pro Invitational UK Champion 2009.

Classes: more than 20 hhours of classes in 2 levels: beginners/intermediate and it/adv, on friday (5 to 6 pm, saturday and sunday. Lindy Hop Classes and authentic dances from the Swing Era (everything you never heard about and you never saw in Italy, but that contributetd to create the Lindy Hop as it is nowadays).
Parties: friday and saturday at Crazy Bull Cafè in Via Degola 4 - Genova
The Bands: The Nine Pennies e The NP Big Band
The djs: national and international.
Competitions: Jack and Jill prelims on fridau night and finals on saturday night with live music.
